How MSME Samadhaan works

A short note on the delayed-payment process. General information only — not a promise of recovery or timing.

Udyam registration is usually the starting point. Without it, the MSMED Act’s delayed-payment machinery often does not apply in the way most units expect.

The statute sets an outer payment period (commonly 45 days where the purchase order is silent) and provides for statutory interest in defined cases. Whether a particular invoice qualifies depends on the facts and the applicable text of the law.

A claim is typically filed on the Samadhaan portal and taken up by the Facilitation Council. Claims older than three years are generally not taken up.

The outcome and timeline depend on the parties and the statutory process. This note is for general information. It is not legal advice and does not guarantee recovery.
